In many ways cancer has affected my life, close loved ones and friends have fought and some continue to fight on. I have a friend who is fighting a rare form of blood cancer and even if technology and medicine is advancing we still need to fund initiatives that are fighting for cures.

This is Kayla, her mom Sandra is one of the most important people in my life. When Kayla was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia their life changed. For the next two years their family would battle ? they spent Christmas in the hospital and I can?t tell you how much worry and fear Sandra went through.
Today Kayla is going into 4th grade she?s happy and healthy and is winning her battle. The fear and the fight is not over for their family and not for ours.
